March Madness has begun. On the first full day of games yesterday, the tournament’s first upset occurred when No. 11 Duquesne took down No. 6 BYU for its first NCAA tournament win in over 50 years. Later in the day, No. 14 Oakland shocked No. 3 Kentucky with sudden tourney hero Jack Gohlke hitting 10 three-pointers, just one shy of the tournament record. The action continues with a full slate of games today and well into the night.
Friday’s fun began with Northwestern taking down FAU in overtime, while No. 5 San Diego State avoided an upset to No. 12 UAB. Otherwise, the action has featured plenty of top seeds routing their lower-ranked opponents with UConn, Marquette, Baylor and Clemson all posting large, double-digit wins.Â
