Formula 1 is back this weekend, after a bit of time off. Two weeks ago, fans watched F1’s 20 drivers (with one brand-new face) take on the Jeddah Corniche circuit. Max Verstappen and Red Bull walked away victorious for the second weekend in a row.Â
Even though Verstappen seemed to run away with the victory two weeks ago, drivers up and down the grid gave competitive performances. One such driver is first-timer Ollie Bearman, who currently races in Formula 2. Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz, who was out for the weekend to receive treatment for appendicitis, was replaced by the rookie. Bearman gave a stellar debut performance, placing seventh in his first Formula 1 race. Fans of Bearman shouldn’t get too comfortable — Sainz is slated to race once again this weekend — but Bearman is ready to be called up if need be.Â
Currently, the championship standings aren’t entirely surprising. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen is in first place with 51 points to his name, teammate Sergio Perez is in second with 36 points and Ferrari’s Charles LeClerc has taken third with 28.Â
The Australian Grand Prix will follow the traditional race weekend format, with three practice sessions across Friday and Saturday, a Saturday qualifying and a Sunday race.Â
The main race, which takes place on Sunday, March 24, at 11:55 p.m ET (8:55 p.m PT) will be held at the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne. The race will air on ESPN2 and ESPNPlus.Â
The entire race weekend, including practice sessions and qualifying, will be shown in the US on ESPN’s family of TV and streaming networks. Those looking to follow all of it will need access to the ABC and ESPN news channels on cable or live TV streaming services, or the ESPN Plus streaming service. We’ve broken down everything you need to know to stream today’s race, and all the other F1…
